TV Night!

“A picture-perfect family enjoys the same TV show every night—until their son realises they can’t change the channel, leave the house, or remember life beyond the glow of the TV screen.”

TV Night! is a psychological thriller with elements of dystopian sci-fi and dark satire written and directed by Carrie McDaid. Set in a carefully curated world of 1950s domestic bliss, the film gradually peels back the pastel facade to reveal a chilling commentary on media control, collective memory, and the seductive power of nostalgia. Drawing inspiration from works like Twin Peaks, Severance, and The Truman Show, it blends psychological horror with sharp social critique, spiralling into a surreal and unsettling vision of the “good old days” gone wrong.

Filmed over four long yet rewarding days in March 2025, production took place across Grangegorman and Dún Laoghaire. The project was brought to life by a stellar cast and an incredibly dedicated crew, whose creativity, professionalism, and camaraderie made the experience feel like a true collaboration from beginning to end.
